This course  is an advanced version of fish parasitology for the Fish Disease course  and also,  an elective course for the School of Fisheries and Aquaculture. 

Students are first taught the common parasites infecting fish.

It starts with fish protozoan ectoparasites: ciliates and flagellates which are found on gills and skin of fish host.

  • Students will learn about gill metazoan parasites that is gill and skin monogenea
  • Metazoan endoparasites that will be introduced next are:
  1.   cestodes,
  2.   nematodes,
  3.   digenea and
  4.   acanthocephala
  • Students will gain the knowledge on ecology of freshwater and marine parasites as well as understand the interaction of fish host and parasite.
