This course introduces Dengue and Zika diseases which are caused by two viruses of the same family; Dengue virus and Zika virus. This course explains the biology of each viruses in terms of their structure, genome organization and replication strategy in cellular hosts. Transmission of both Dengue and Zika viruses to susceptible individuals occurs through mosquitoes as an arthropod vector. Thus, factors correlating the mosquito biology, ecology and human behaviour may contribute to the dynamics of dengue, which will be explained further in this course. The impact of both Dengue and Zika viral infections to human immune system resulting asymptomatic or severe clinical manifestations will also be discussed. Further, this course highlights current lab diagnosis and treatment, as well as the progress of development of antiviral therapy and vaccine against both viruses.

A Learning Management System (LMS) is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of educational courses or training programs. An LMS delivers and manages instructional content, and typically handles student registration, online course administration, and tracking, and assessment of student work. Some LMSs help identify progress towards learning or training goals. LENTERA is a Learning Management System’s name for UMT. It consists several platforms to support teaching and learning through e-Learning. And Blended Learning provides both an online component and face-to-face interactions.
This module is a guide that helps you develop a course that meets the blended-learning mode. As well as giving you experience in learning using e-learning technology. All functions in the basic level include general settings, activity settings and assessment settings is organized and processed in an easy-to-understand with a step-by-step approach in the clear graphics form. This module is expected to help you to setting your course in LMS properly and quickly.
